2014 River Cleanup Report

Despite dire weather predictions, the rain stopped in the afternoon, Sunday September 28th, long enough for the 116 people to clean Hirsch Creek and Kitimat River from Cable Car to LNG Canada. The twelve teams returned to the Kitimat Rod & Gun Club with lots of garbage and a big appetite. Hamburgers and hot dogs were served by the Spring Break Belize 2016 group financially sponsored by LNG Canada. There were prizes given out for seeing wildlife, finding shoes, largest, most disgusting and most unique finds. The pre-registration prize, donated by Kitimat Modernization Project, was won by Cameron Orr. The great success of this event was helped by our sponsors:
  • LNG Canada,
  • Kitimat Rod and Gun Club,
  • Triton Environmental Consultants,
  • Kuehn+Nagel,
  • Leavitt Machinery,
  • Ellis Don,

  • Waste Management,
  • District of Kitimat
    Others who helped:
